CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: We are open to paying guests who have a legitimate requirement for accommodation in Edinburgh, as we are providing free temporary accommodation for frontline NHS, Care and Emergency Services staff who continue to work but cannot return to their homes. We only have 3 rooms, on a separate floor to our own quarters, with every aspect of the premises managed by only one person, so we can offer a low-risk environment to those who genuinely need it.
McCrae's is a family-run bed and breakfast, conveniently located in Edinburgh's historic New Town close to the City Centre, that strives to make a minimal impact on our environment. We offer our guests affordable, high-quality accommodation that quite literally doesn't cost the earth and will help reduce your carbon-footprint while enjoying our wonderful city. We are a traditional Edinburgh main door apartment in a block that is over 130 years old and many period features, such as ornate cornicing, have been retained; the decor is a tasteful mix of old and new.
You can experience everything Edinburgh has to offer and then relax in one of our quiet, comfy en-suite rooms with our mainly organic breakfasts setting you up for the day. We source everything as locally as possible so you'll be getting a taste of the best Scotland has to offer. We've been supporting the Organic / Fairtrade movement as a family for many years and want to give guests the opportunity to do so too, while keeping our rates as affordable as other establishments offering standard fare. The quality of the produce we use is second to none and we're sure you'll appreciate the difference. We also provide eco-friendly toiletries and only use eco-friendly products on our organic cotton bed-linen and towels.
When you come to stay with us you'll enjoy the personal touch a family-run establishment has to offer. Our priority is to help make your stay in Scotland's Capital as enjoyable as possible. It's a fantastic city to visit, all year round; great for just a city-break or as a starting point for a wider tour. You may want to check out our links page where you'll find a list of sites that could give you some ideas of how best to spend you time while you're here, and when you arrive we'll be on hand with lots of advice to help you make the most of your visit. We look forward to welcoming you.
